In preparation for the transition to ICD-10 CMS froze the ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes so that providers could transition as smoothly as possible. Well, spring is here and it looks like that freeze is coming to an end.

After the codes being frozen for so many years we can expect to see changes this October since CMS has lifted the freeze. What does this mean? Well, just a new set of codes to learn and contend with. Don’t worry, it won’t be nearly as comprehensive as the transition to ICD-10, so, it should be like a walk in the park for all of you that dealt with the ICD-9 to ICD-10 transition.  If you are a Data Soft Logic user for home health or hospice software, then you’ll have the benefit of our updates from PMIC, an industry leader in coding and compliance. Our integration of their ICD-10 codes has helped providers avoid issues with their claims and we look forward to making sure our software provides up to date and accurate codes for a seamless transition to the upcoming changes in the ICD-10 codes. Keep Calm and Code On!
